This year Random Acts of Kindness Week falls on the week of February 17th. Random Acts of Kindness Week was first acknowledged in 2018 and was originated by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation. Their mission is to change society through kindness and they work towards this goal by creating free content promoting and teaching kindness skills. The week is meant to encourage harmony and kindness between people no matter the size.
Entrepreneurs and small business owners can celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week in many different ways. Below are 4 ways to celebrate the day.
- Give back to the community and buy/eat local. This shows support for local small business owners and keeps money circulating within the community.
- Leave positive reviews for local businesses. Small business owners rely on the community and reviews so that they can grow their business.
- Start a fundraiser for a noble cause. Everyone appreciates businesses pitching in and providing input on important issues.
- Send positive reinforcing emails. Most people experience a flood of emails a day and it’s nice to receive a genuinely positive email. Better yet - send a handwritten note! Sometimes overlooked, a personal snail mail message can be much appreciated.
Even though this week is Random Acts of Kindness Week, we can all be kind every day of the year. Everyone can connect through kindness and one kind moment has the power to not only change someone’s mood, but it could change someone’s life!
