Transform Your Website with Three Quick Fixes

June 03, 2025 01:25 PM By Lisset

Your website is your business's sidekick! But it doesn’t need a complete redesign to start working better for your business. It's true what they say: "Don't fix what isn't broken." In many cases, minor, consistent updates often lead to the most significant results. Whether the goal is attracting new clients, showcasing services or just building some trust online, your website should be doing some of the heavy lifting.

If it’s been a while since you gave it any attention, here are three simple but important updates you can make this week to improve the user experience and better support your business goals.

1. Find and fix the "broken stuff" (links and buttons).

Broken links create a frustrating experience for any visitors and reflect poorly on your brand. Imagine clicking a link expecting some content, only to land on an error page. It's off-putting and may even make the visitor feel like the business isn't well-maintained.

They may seem like minor issues, but over time, they chip away at trust. Equally as bad, they can affect your site's performance in search engine rankings.

Take a few minutes to go through your website as if you were a first-time visitor. Immerse yourself as your own client! Click on navigation menus, buttons, and any links in the footer. Ensure everything leads where it’s supposed to.

🔧 If you want a faster method, use a tool like BrokenLinkCheck or Dead Link Checker to scan your entire site at once. Clear, functional navigation keeps your visitors focused on their interests and encourages them to explore your website. Making purchases, sending messages or booking services, you've got them covered, no matter what they're after.

2. Make sure your contact information is visible and easy to find!

When someone visits your site, it should be immediately clear how to reach you. It might take a long scroll to the bottom, but it shouldn't be a puzzle. If your contact details are buried under multiple clicks or hidden in one obscure place, you may be missing out on valuable inquiries.

🔎 Double check to make sure your phone number, email and contact form are clearly visible on the pages you want them to be seen, ideally in your header or footer. On mobile, make sure contact buttons are easy to tap and are big enough to see and touch. If your business offers live chat, you've definitely got to allow your visitors to find and take advantage of it.

✨ Accessibility builds a special kind of trust without needing a single word. Whether someone has a quick question or wants to hire you, making communication simple can be the difference maker between a new customer and a missed opportunity.

3. Update old information and get rid of the clutter.

Keeping your site up to date is similar to sending out a newspaper; no one wants to read old news. If visitors land on your site and see outdated info, it's a red flag that things aren't being looked after.

🎯 Old promotions, outdated staff bios or incorrect hours send the message that your business isn’t being actively managed. Even if everything else is well-designed, this kind of oversight can leave a lasting negative impression. Review your homepage, service pages and contact page as well. Are your hours, team info and calls-to-action accurate and current?

🗑 While you're at it, take out any clutter or things that seem like an eye sore. These could be outdated banners that aren't relevant anymore. A clean, accurate website not only looks more professional but also makes it easier for visitors to find what they're looking for without getting lost in the noise.

Your website is working behind the scenes 24/7. It does everything you need and more! So when it's clean, up to date and easy to navigate, it draws the client in like a fishing rod. Give it the attention it deserves and let it do what it's built for. Help it help you!
